The best websites for a virtual Valentine’s gift: 9 compared

Updated · by Milad, founder of Ouvella

A virtual Valentine’s gift has to do what flowers can’t: say something only you could say, and arrive at the right second, even from the other side of the world. Valentine’s Day 2027 falls on a Sunday. The sites that make these gifts look alike at first glance, but they differ on what matters: a free tier that lasts 48 hours or a page that stays for years, your voice or only text, a reveal at midnight or a link you have to send yourself. We read the official pages of nine of them.

The short version: for zero cost, a Canva card or Gifft.me. For a midnight reveal in their time zone, GiftFeels. For a long letter, OpenYourLetter or 2luv. For a mini-film with your voice that unlocks at the minute you choose and stays online for years, Ouvella, at €9.99 once.

Ouvella is our product. So we are not neutral: we listed it with its limits, we say plainly when another site fits better, and every fact about the others comes from their own pages, read on November 2, 2026 and listed at the bottom. No affiliate links, and nobody paid to be here.

Best for a QR code to slip into a card, and many playful formats

A catalog of more than 30 surprise pages shared by link or QR code. Its Valentine’s page holds photos, music and a counter; other formats include a password-protected secret message and a time capsule.

    • Its secret-message page adds a voice note, a password and a reveal at the exact date and time
    • Editable after you create it

    Good to know

    See the Ouvella Valentine’s surprise

Ouvella gift, Flowers theme: the letter “Une lettre pour toi” (“A letter for you”) on paper framed by pink flowers, with a photo of a couple in Paris
Ouvella gift, Birthday theme: the “Nos souvenirs” (“Our memories”) screen, five polaroid photos on a burgundy background
Ouvella gift, Date night theme: the opening screen, a red rose under a glass dome and the hint “Touche la rose pour commencer” (“Tap the rose to begin”)
Real screenshots of an Ouvella interactive gift, as the recipient sees it on their phone (an example in French, with made-up text).

Number 9, in full transparency

Ouvella is an independent site, created by Milad. It is a surprise you fill in, staged like a short film, that unlocks at the moment you choose. Pick Ouvella if:

  • you want it locked behind a countdown until midnight on February 14, even if you are asleep (in your time zone or theirs: if you live apart, set it for midnight in their time zone, with no conversion)
  • you want your own voice in it, next to your letter, your photos and your song
  • you want them to open it again next Valentine’s Day: it stays online for at least 5 years
  • you want a QR code on a printed card, for a Valentine’s Day spent together

Pick something else if it has to be free (Canva, Gifft.me), if you want to design every detail (Canva), or if you send cards to many people all year (Jacquie Lawson).

Timing it for February 14

Valentine’s Day 2027 is a Sunday, and the strongest moment is usually midnight, the very start of the day. Three ways to land it:

  • Let the site hold it. GiftFeels schedules the reveal for midnight in their time zone; Ouvella unlocks at the date and time you set, in your time zone or theirs, and shows a countdown until then; Gifts QR’s secret-message page reveals at an exact date and time.
  • Schedule an email. Jacquie Lawson emails the card on the date you pick, around 1 a.m. Pacific time for US members, and warns that it can take some time on busy holidays such as Valentine’s Day.
  • Send it yourself. On 2luv, LovePage.io and the others, you keep the link and text it at midnight. Living apart? Read our digital gifts for long-distance couples.

Free virtual Valentine’s gifts: what actually works

What genuinely costs nothing, and where each option falls short.

  • A Canva card

Good: Hundreds of Valentine’s templates, your photos and animations, sent by email or as a link, all free.

Catch: A designed card rather than a gift to open: music, a voice note and a timed reveal are not stated.

  • A Gifft.me “Be my Valentine”

Good: Free, no registration, with a message they only see if they answer yes.

Catch: Ads for both of you unless you pay $0.90, and one photo.

  • A free LovePage

Good: An AI-designed love page with your song, published for free.

Catch: Deleted after 48 hours unless you buy Premium ($8.99).

  • A short note in an animated envelope, or an AIskyla page

Good: Letters by Heart is free up to 100 characters, and AIskyla is free with ads.

Catch: A very short note, or photos and music removed after 15 days: see our long-distance comparison for both.

How to choose, in 4 questions

1. A card, or a gift to open?

A card says “I thought of you”: Canva, Jacquie Lawson or Gifft.me do it well. A gift to open tells your story, with your photos and your words: Gifts QR, GiftFeels, OpenYourLetter, 2luv, LovePage.io or Ouvella.

2. Text, or your voice?

A voice note is what people replay. GiftFeels’ Valentine’s template, OpenYourLetter’s voice memo card, Gifts QR’s secret message and Ouvella take one; for the others it is not stated.

3. Should it last?

If they will open it again next February, check how long it stays: 48 hours for a free LovePage, 30 days on Gifts QR’s $7 plan, 90 days on GiftFeels (extendable), at least 5 years on Ouvella.

4. Who is it for?

For a girlfriend, see our Valentine’s Day gift for your girlfriend; for the words, our Valentine’s Day messages. And if their birthday comes first, the best birthday website makers are compared the same way.

How we made this list

  • What Americans see. On November 2, 2026 we searched Bing (US market) and Google (US) for “virtual valentines gift website”, “digital valentine gift for girlfriend online” and similar queries, and kept the sites that rank, plus the classic e-card and design options.
  • Official pages only. Each site’s home, pricing, FAQ or help pages, and its own llms.txt where we quote it. No third-party reviews, nothing from memory: the addresses are in the sources below. Where a site’s own pages disagree, we say so.
  • What we didn’t do. We did not buy on every site. When a page doesn’t say, we write “not stated” rather than guess.
  • Ouvella is our product. It is on the list with its limits, and the order is not a ranking. No affiliate links, and nobody paid to appear.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best website for a virtual Valentine’s gift?

It depends on the gift you have in mind. For a QR code in a card and lots of formats, Gifts QR. For a reveal at midnight in their time zone, with many templates, GiftFeels. For a polished letter with no account, OpenYourLetter; for a long letter in 12 languages, 2luv. To try a love page free tonight, LovePage.io. For a free, playful “be my Valentine”, Gifft.me. For hand-drawn e-cards, Jacquie Lawson; to design a card yourself, Canva. For a mini-film with your voice that unlocks at the minute you choose, Ouvella (our product, €9.99).

Is there a free virtual Valentine’s gift?

Yes. Canva’s Valentine’s card maker is free, photos and sending included. Gifft.me is free with ads. LovePage.io publishes a page for free, but deletes it after 48 hours. Letters by Heart is free up to 100 characters, and AIskyla is free with ads. The others charge once, from $6.99 to US$19.90, or a membership for Jacquie Lawson.

Can a virtual Valentine’s gift open at midnight on February 14?

On some sites. GiftFeels schedules the reveal for midnight in their time zone. Ouvella unlocks at the date and time you set, in your time zone or theirs; until then they see a countdown and nothing inside. Gifts QR’s secret-message and time-capsule pages reveal at an exact date and time. Jacquie Lawson emails the card on the date you pick, around 1 a.m. Pacific time for US members. 2luv says delivery is not scheduled automatically, and the others do not state it: you send the link at midnight yourself.

Which ones let me add my own voice?

GiftFeels’ Valentine’s template takes an optional voice message, OpenYourLetter has a voice memo card, Gifts QR’s secret-message page records a voice note, and Ouvella includes your voice note in every gift. A voice note is not stated for 2luv, LovePage.io, Gifft.me, Jacquie Lawson or Canva.

How long does a virtual Valentine’s gift stay online?

Ouvella keeps each gift online for at least 5 years. OpenYourLetter aims for long-term access while it operates, Jacquie Lawson sets no time limit on viewing, and Gifft.me keeps gifts until you delete them.

What should I put in a digital Valentine’s gift?

A few photos of the two of you, the reasons you love them in your own words, the song that is yours, and if you can, thirty seconds of your voice: it is what people replay. Add one playful touch, like a quiz about your first date or a “will you be my Valentine?” they have to answer. Our Valentine’s Day messages can help with the words.

When is Valentine’s Day 2027?

Sunday, February 14, 2027. If you live apart, decide whose midnight counts (usually theirs), and pick a site that can hold the gift until then, or set an alarm to send the link yourself.
